Forschung in der Palliativversorgung
Forschung ist eine maßgebliche Möglichkeit, das Versorgungsangebot für Patienten und Patientinnen sowie deren Angehörige stetig zu verbessern. In der besonderen Situation von Palliativpatienten und -patientinnen muss Forschung selbstverständlich sehr umsichtig, ethisch vertretbar und mit dem allergrößten Respekt durchgeführt werden.
Wie auch in der palliativmedizinischen Behandlung und Begleitung stellt Forschung in diesem Bereich den Patienten und die Patientinnen und deren Angehörigen in den Mittelpunkt und erfolgt interdisziplinär und multiprofessionell. So finden sich unter den Forschenden an der Abteilung neben Medizinern und Medizinerinnen auch Psychologen und Psychologinnen, Sozialpädagogen und Sozialpädagoginnen und Gesundheitswissenschaftler und Gesundheitswissenschaftlerinnen.
Neben klinischer Versorgung und Lehre ist die Forschung in der Palliativmedizin ein Grundpfeiler der universitären Einrichtung.
